OPTIX Introduces AR and VR Advances at CES 2025
OPTIX Reveals AR and VR Developments at CES 2025

The Beijing-based optical equipment firm OPTIX debuted its newest AR waveguide module at CES 2025, along with a sophisticated foveated rendering function for its 8K Pancake optical module for VR devices.

The business emphasised the rising demand for AI-powered smart glasses and forecasted that AR glasses with built-in screens would rank among the most significant developments in consumer electronics by 2025.

To meet this expected demand, OPTIX unveiled the ‘EPIC 50’, a new AR 2D geometric waveguide unit that offers full-color, high-efficiency display functionality combined with a 50-degree broad field of view (FoV). According to the business, this most recent module is intended to improve AR glasses in the future by providing a wider field of vision and remarkable picture quality.

OPTIX also introduced a state-of-the-art foveated render function for their 8K VR Pancake Module in addition to the EPIC 50. This module has an integrated diopter modification from 0 to 8D, an 8K resolution binocular display, and an ultra-wide field of view of 115 degrees. The business claims that these characteristics create a new bar for future-oriented VR devices by offering visual performance and aesthetics on par with the Vision Pro device from Apple.

OPTIX clarified that their foveated render technology enables OEMs to save GPU horsepower while preserving full 8K display resolution in VR headsets by integrating patented eye-tracking technologies. Additionally, this method makes VR systems more interactive and flexible.

OPTIX’s founder and CEO, Gary Yan, was excited about the company’s attendance at CES 2025, saying it gave them a chance to demonstrate their cutting-edge AR and VR optical solutions. The goal of OPTIX, he said, is to constantly develop and provide cutting-edge optical solutions that satisfy customer demands.

OPTIX showcased a range of lens solutions at CES 2025, showcasing its technical strength and strategic intent along with introducing the EPIC 50 unit and the foveated render innovation. The All-in-One Pancake Lens, 2D Geometric Waveguides, Vari-focal Lenses, and Integrated Myopia Waveguide, were among these items.
